Key messages from the event
The Symposium urges governments, international agencies, intergovernmental organizations, local communities, universities, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, other relevant bodies, civil society and individuals to work together to maintain wetlands and prevent further degradation and loss, to ensure their wise use, and to maintain and restore wetland biodiversity and ecosystem functions to through regional and international partnerships towards the wise use of wetlands in Asia.
